DME CERT Outreach and Education Task Force
The DME Comprehensive Error Rate Testing (CERT) Outreach and Education Task Force is a multi-jurisdictional unit comprised of provider outreach experts from all four DME MACs. They collaborate to provide focused education to the Medicare supplier community in order to decrease the overall CERT error rate. The group uses feedback from CMS, published CERT data, the A/B CERT Outreach and Education Task Force, and input from the DME MAC Medical Directors when preparing educational materials and programs. Webinars, teleconferences, and live events at Medtrade are just a few examples of avenues used to educate suppliers.
The DME CERT Outreach and Education Task Force consists of representatives from each of the DME MACs and is independent from the CMS CERT Team and CERT Contractors, who are responsible for the calculation of the Medicare Fee-for-Service Improper payment rate.
CMS has added dedicated pages for the CERT Outreach and Education Task Forces (both DME MAC and A/B MAC). The pages include co-branded educational materials and upcoming events (i.e., participation in open door forums, etc.).
