UPDATE: Request for Anticipated Payment (RAP), Demand Letters
Message to HHA Providers:
As of October 1, 2019, due to the implementation of CR 10776, Home Health Agencies (HHAs) may have received a demand letter for a Request for Anticipated Payment (RAP) overpayment. This letter instructed HHAs to either write a check to the MAC, request an immediate offset, or rebill the RAP if the final claim will be ready to bill within 30 days.
CMS has been made aware of this change and has made the necessary corrections within our systems to address this error to ensure that these RAP overpayments will be processed automatically for immediate offset. Therefore, if your HHA has received a Request for Anticipated Payment (RAP) overpayment demand letter dated between October 7, 2019 to October 25, 2019, we ask that you please disregard that letter and that no further action is required to remit a check payment or initiate a request for immediate offset.”
