Men’s Health Month and National Men’s Health Week

June is Men’s Health Month and the week leading up to Father’s Day has been designated as National Men’s Health Week. It reminds us to take care of all the important men in our lives. Both events are recognized with community outreach, screenings, social media events, activities such as the “Wear Blue” Day, and educational opportunities to promote awareness of the importance of prevention, early detection, and treatment of diseases that can occur in men as well as to promote healthy living and overall well-being.

Dates:
2022- June 13th – June 19th
2023- June 12th – June 18th
2024- June 10th -June 16th
2025- June 9th – June 15th

You can promote men’s health by:

  • Encouraging your patients to schedule annual wellness visits and screenings
  • Educating your patients on healthy habits such as exercising, eating a well-balanced diet including foods that are low in salt, fat, and cholesterol, lowering stress levels, controlling weight (or losing weight if needed), quitting smoking, avoiding/reducing alcohol use, and getting enough sleep.
  • Evaluating your patients’ mental well-being during medical visits.
