Fiscal Intermediary Standard System (FISS) Direct Data Entry (DDE) Screen Changes – January 2022

The January 2022 quarterly system release, scheduled to be implemented on January 3, 2022, includes the FISS DDE screen changes identified below.

Map 1E91 – Opioid Use Disorder Demo 99 Inquiry

The OUD Demo 99 Inquiry screen (Map 1E91) headings will change from CLMS (claims) to UNITS (covered units). FISS will count covered units (rather than claims) to accumulate the CAP amounts for OUD treatment program HCPCS codes per CAP year.


Map 1711 – Claim Entry

When the Claims/Attachments Menu (Option 2), Home Health (Option 26) or NOE/NOA (Option 49) is selected, Type of Bill (TOB) 329 displays. (NOTE: If you are manually keying an NOA, change the TOB to 32A.)


Map 1741 – Claims Correction

When the Claims Correction Menu (Option 3), Home Health (Options 27, 33 or 53) is selected, the appropriate NOA Type of Bill (TOB) displays.


Map 175F – HH PPS Episode Periods Inquiry

If the beneficiary has a home health episode, the HH PPS Periods Inquiry screen will display one of the following indicators in the NOA IND field:

  • 1 – NOA received without Condition Code 47
  • 2 – NOA received with Condition Code 47 (patient transferred from another HHA)
