Medicare Updates
Everyone will start their workshop day with an overview of recent changes and updates to the Medicare program.

Session Two – 9:30-11 am ET (Select One)

DME Documentation Requirements
*For anyone NOT a supplier of orthotics and prosthetics.

This session provides an overview of standard documentation requirements in the Supplier Manual and Policy Article A55426. DME suppliers will ensure that they're aware of documentation requirements regarding amendments, corrections to medical records, signature requirements, standard written orders, continued use vs. continued need, request for refills, and proof of delivery.

Orthotics & Prosthetics (O&P) Documentation Requirements
*For all O&P suppliers.

This session provides an overview of medical record documentation from an O&P perspective, including information on written order prior to delivery, face-to-face encounters, and the differences between custom fit and custom-fabricated orthotics.

Note: Prior Authorization for Orthoses & Prosthetics will be covered in Session Three at 12:15 pm ET: Orthoses & Prosthetics Prior Authorization.

Session Three: 12:15-1:15 pm ET (Select One)

Successful Claim Submission
This session provides basic information on eligibility, the intake process, and the claim submission process. We recommend this course for new suppliers and employees whose roles have recently changed in your company.

Orthoses & Prosthetics – Prior Authorization, Errors, and Resolutions
This session looks at the recent updates for items on the Required Prior Authorization list and shares best practices for submitting successful Prior Authorization Requests. We will also share examples of the most common reasons for non-affirmations and tips on how to avoid them.

Glucose Monitors and CGMs – Updates, Errors, and Resolutions
This session reviews the latest updates and information about Medicare coverage and documentation requirements for glucose monitors and continuous glucose monitors (CGMs). We will also share information on common claim submission errors and resolutions.

Session Four – 1:25-2:25 pm ET (Select One)

Self-Service Tools – What are all those tools for?
This session shares a live demonstration of the free self-service solutions available on the CGS website. Attendees can follow along with their cell phone or laptops to practice in real time. Afterwards, we'll have breakout sessions for suppliers to review scenarios and discuss the best way to find information on claim submissions, claim denials, and how to resolve the denials. Attendees will leave with hands-on experience using the website tools to resolve questions. (These tools do not display PHI or PII.)

Note: The session does not include a live demonstration of the myCGS provider portal. We will reference the myCGS User Manual to discuss the myCGS online portal.

Auditing Entities
This session reviews who the auditing contractors are, the role of the auditing contractors, and how to prepare for an audit.

Oxygen Local Coverage Determination (LCD) Updates
Join this session to learn about the latest updates to the Oxygen & Oxygen Equipment LCD and Policy Article (PA).

Session Five – 2:35-3:30 pm ET (Select One)

Advanced Beneficiary Notices (ABNs) and Upgrades
This session reviews financial implications associated with ABNs, as well as when and how to provide ABNs to Medicare beneficiaries and submit claims for upgrades.

Surgical Dressings – Updates, Errors, and Resolutions
Join this session for an overview of surgical dressings, including the coverage criteria, what is and is not covered under this policy, and the appropriate usage of different dressings. We will discuss examples of the most common errors on this policy and share tips on how to avoid them.

Therapeutic Shoes – Updates, Errors, and Resolutions
This session provides detailed information on how to resolve the top claim denials and documentation errors. We will also address the parameters of the therapeutic shoes for persons with diabetes benefits and certifying physician requirements.
