Part A East (PAE) Appeal Demonstration

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) launched a Qualified Independent Contractor (QIC) Telephone Discussion and Reopening Process Demonstration in January 2016 for Durable Medical Equipment (DME) suppliers. Effective May 1, 2019, CMS expanded the Demonstration to the Part A East (PAE) QIC jurisdiction, C2C Innovative Solutions, Inc, which will offer telephone discussions and/or reopenings to home health and hospice related appeals within Jurisdiction 15 (J15).

Under the Demonstration, selected J15 home health and hospice providers (CO, DE, IA, KS, MD, MO, MT, NE, ND, PA, SD, UT, VA, WV, WY and the District of Columbia) have the opportunity to participate in a recorded telephone discussion that will be included and considered as part of the appeals case file, prior to C2C's reconsideration decision. Participation in the Telephone Discussion Demonstration is voluntary. Refer to the C2C Part A East Appeals Demonstration Web page for additional information.
