Welcome & Introductions

Crystal welcomed the group to the meeting and reviewed the primary role of the POE AG. The Advisory Group acts as a consultant to help the Provider Outreach and Education team plan, implement, and review training strategies and events. Members provide feedback on topics, materials, and workshop logistics while identifying key issues to optimize information delivery to providers and their staff.

News & Updates

The group discussed the news items and updates that had come up since the last meeting. She made sure everyone stayed informed and encouraged participants to share insights and ask questions. We covered the following topics:

  • Widespread Pre-Pay Service Specific Medical Record Review Announcement – HCPCS Code A6023
  • Updated Advance Beneficiary Notice of Noncoverage (ABN) Form Now Available!
  • Claims Rejected for Missing KG Modifier
  • Widespread Pre-Payment Medical Record Review Announcement – New Suppliers
  • New Code Added to CGS Connect®!
  • Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES) – Coverage and HCPCS Coding – Revised
  • KF Modifier Use – Correct Coding – Revised
  • Reopening Request Changes – Starting August 1
  • Billing Instructions for Capecitabine Oral Anti-Cancer Drug
  • Interactive Voice Response (IVR) System Option Changes

Website / myCGS Portal Updates

We reviewed the myCGS DME Web Portal updates (versions 11.2 – 11.5). Enhancements included adding new letter types in the eLetters inbox, improvements to Reopening Form Submission and updated sign-on, password, and registration protocols. We also talked about additional updates including Prior Authorization exemptions, changes to the Redeterminations status page and Form Submission, and the Annual Security Video and Transcript directly linked to our website.

Feedback & Suggestions/Open Discussion

Crissy reported receiving pushback from several treating practitioners when offering the CGS Dear Physician Letters. They questioned whether the letters were current, as some have not been revised within the past year. Crystal advised that the listed copyright and revision dates reflect the most recent updates made to each document and they are reviewed annually.
