Hurricane season is just around the corner, officially kicking off on June 1, 2023, and running until November 30, 2023. Are you ready? CGS has all of the resources you need to prepare and respond to natural disasters on our web site page dedicated to helping you in the event of a natural disaster.
While the hurricane season doesn't officially start until June 1, the National Hurricane Center has begun issuing tropical weather outlooks regarding weather conditions in the Atlantic basin before the start of the hurricane season. The outlooks are issued four times daily from May 15 to Nov. 30 and describe significant areas of severe weather and its potential for tropical cyclone formation. More frequent updates are issued in the event of hurricanes or tropical storms in the Atlantic. If you're located in an area prone to hurricanes, CGS suggests bookmarking the National Hurricane Center web site.
What are researchers predicting for the 2023 hurricane season?
