Ascension Health Cyber Related Incident
Medicare providers impacted by the Ascension Health Cyber Related Incident (CRI) that began on or around May 8, 2024, may be eligible for the following relief:
Accelerated Payments
Part A providers experiencing cash flow problems must complete and submit the CRI Request Template to request an accelerated payment up to 100% of the Medicare payment amount for a 30-day period.
The extension of accelerated payments to Ascension Health is only for the duration of the claims processing disruptions associated with the incident.
Medical Review Issues
Reasonable administrative relief and guidance on medical review-related issues may include requests to:
- Extend the timeframe to respond to medical review additional documentation requests (ADRs)
- Reschedule medical review education sessions
- Close a specific probe review and consider reopening it at a future date
- Other relief, as appropriate
