myCGS Enhancement: Medicare Diabetes Prevention Program Data

Beginning in April 2018, CMS expanded the Medicare Diabetes Prevention Program (MDPP) model, allowing us to reimburse MDPP-enrolled suppliers for services rendered to eligible patients. This model includes an evidence-based set of services aimed to help prevent the onset of type 2 diabetes among Medicare patients with an indication of pre-diabetes.

An enhancement to myCGS allows you IMMEDIATE access to your patient’s history to see if MDPP services have been rendered.  Having access to this information will reduce the chance of erroneous repeated MDPP services, and helps you determine the next available date for certain MDPP services.

Upon accessing myCGS, select the ELIGIBILITY tab, and then the INQUIRY sub-tab.

Enter the patient’s Last Name, Medicare ID, and either First Name or Date of birth into the appropriate fields.  Click ‘Submit Inquiry.’

myCGS will display the ELIGIBILITY sub-tab. The MDPP data can be located at the bottom of the page.

NOTE:  If nothing is displayed, this means no MDPP services have been submitted.

Additional information regarding the MDPP HCPCS codes and reimbursement are available in the MDPP Quick Reference Guide to Payment and Billing.

Take advantage of this enhancement and a number of additional myCGS functions available to you.
