May 24, 2017 - Revised: 05.26.17
Corrected: Appeals Redetermination Letters
The home health and hospice Provider Contact Center (PCC) is receiving calls from providers regarding appeal letters being sent to a different address. The appeals are processed through the Medicare Appeals System (MAS), which includes the address for mailing appeal letters. The address is obtained from either the Fiscal Intermediary Standard System (FISS) or from the National Plan & Provider Enumeration System (NPPES). In order to ensure that you receive appeal letters at the correct address, the NPPES "Mailing Address" and the "Special Payments Address" in the Provider Enrollment, Chain and Ownership System (PECOS)
should match.
Changes to the NPPES "Mailing Address" can be made via the NPPES website or paper by completing the NPI Application\Update Form
.
