5010 Tip of the Day: P.O. Boxes
Version 5010 will not accept a P.O. Box or lockbox address as the billing provider address. The billing provider address you use on claims must be a physical address in order to get paid. This rule applies to both professional and institutional claim formats. Claims that contain "Post Office Box", "P.O. Box", "P.O. Box", "P.O. Box", "Lock Box", "Lock Bin" as the address will be rejected. Providers currently sending Billing Provider Addresses with a PO Box or lock box should immediately begin a transition to use a physical address instead to avoid claim denials.
